A century of history

Located on the shores of Lac Tremblant, only 90 minutes north of Montreal and two hours from Ottawa, the site offers a superb view of Mont-Tremblant, one of the tallest peaks in Québec.

1900

The original building, a family home made of logs, was built in the beginning of the 1900s by a Mr. Lapierre.
The Woolnough family then transformed the home into a rooming house and soon after, during the Depression, the colourful Betty White ran a house here with a somewhat shady reputation! In 1945, Ruth and Slim Lindsay, from New York, purchased the house and made it into a private club for their friends and acquaintances (15 rooms).

1957-1985

Passionate about skiing and the outdoors, Jim and Betty Cuttle met while working for Dominion Textiles. They married in 1952 and dreamed about buying an inn. The opportunity presented itself in 1957 and the new owners named the establishment Cuttle’s Tremblant Club; they doubled the size of the hotel to be able to accommodate 70 people. The Cuttles were warm and welcoming hosts, known for their personalized service and excellent cuisine.

1985

In 1985, Mr. Claude Lefebvre become owner of what was now known as Club Tremblant and transformed the 30-room hotel into a modern resort centre for leisure activities and conferences. The new owner added 10 buildings, creating a total of 120 condo units and a 10, 000 sq. ft. conference centre. The condominiums were carefully designed; the architecture on the exterior was designed to resemble the chalets in the Swiss Alps and the interior design was spacious and well adapted to modern needs.

1997

A renovation project costing 10 million dollars was completed in 1997. The outdoor landscaping was completely redone to showcase the natural surroundings and tranquility of the resort. A restaurant and an outdoor heated pool were built close to the water. Hôtel Club Tremblant remained a natural paradise of incomparable beauty, while allowing guests to enjoy the most modern facilities. Spa-sur-le-lac was also added, as well as an indoor pool and gym.
The hotel is currently owned by a European family whose stamp of elegance, refinement and service excellence, in the great traditions of European hospitality, now marks the establishment.
